About Us

Formed in September 2021 by Merritt Carey and Andrew Curtis, Maine Working Homes (MWH) is a limited liability corporation focused on solving Maine’s housing challenges.

Specifically, MWH creates home ownership opportunities for Maine residents who have become increasingly priced out of the state’s residential real estate market and who are no longer able to buy homes in the communities in which they work.  MWH seeks to do this in several ways: the conversion of existing multi-family properties to condominiums that can be independently owned; new construction and workforce housing development; and the purchase and renovation of distressed single family homes.

Maine Working Homes is currently converting what was a distressed single family home and barn into 7 units in Thomaston. This project is in it’s final phase, with all but 2 of the 7 units sold. We are committed to building community by creating opportunities for home ownership, and believe strongly that people should be able to live in the communities in which they work.

Maine Working Homes also undertakes select custom builds, for more information please visit our Build with Us page.
